Porta Mangiare ("doorway to good eating") is a line of packaged mixes for Calabrese-style meatballs, turkey meatballs and biscotti, all based on recipes from Grandmother Giulia, who came through Ellis Island in the late 19th century. These mixes contain all the dry goods necessary to make authentic Italian meatballs, including bread crumbs (from bread the company bakes), herbs and spices. All one need do is add the meat and an egg to make meatballs worthy of good Italian pasta
